Liquid Photopolymer the Tech Tips Continue!

4 New Liquid Photopolymer Tips.

We are here to keep you updated on the latest technical tips and information for Anderson and Vreeland’s Liquid Photopolymer product line from our team of experts. This week 4 new tips were added to the A&V website, bringing the total up to 12 tips so far, with the final installment coming next Thursday, August 16th, 2012. The tips were developed to help users understand best practices relating to the handling, storage and usage of AVantage Liquid Photopolymer, that said here are our new tech tips.

Tip 9- Exposure Unit Glass Cleaning Procedure:

This tip goes over how to correctly and thoroughly clean the upper and lower glass to avoid the buildup of agents such as: dust, cleaning agents, tack rag residue, and resin; causing  dime sized low spots or a zebra pattern due to a poor vacuum seal because of the lack of the matte finish.

Tip 10- Lamp Output on Different Types of Exposure Units:

Lamp intensity in exposure units is critical in the production of an AVantageTM photopolymer printing plate. Low intensity lamps will affect the quality of the plate being made and the finishing steps during processing. Lamp output depends upon the type of glass in the exposure unit; smaller units have Pyrex glass while large systems have soda-lime glass. Learn how to correctly choose the correct lamp based on your exposure unit.

Tip 11- Post Exposure Conditions for Tack-Free Plates:

The post exposure step is very critical for producing tack-free AVantageTM Photopolymer printing plates. The quantity of post exposure salt, lamp intensity, post exposure time, and a clean post exposure bath, plus the frequency of bath changes all will impact the quality of the finished plate. This tip provides recommendations for proper salt concentration and time of post exposure.

Tip 12- AVantage® Resin Reclaim Guidelines:

The ability to reclaim and reuse the Liquid Photopolymer resin differentiates the product from sheet plates and in many cases creates a very attractive financial advantage for the customer. In Tip 12, we go over the basic guidelines being observed in order to assure careful handling to allow resin reclaim the opportunity to produce high-quality printing plates.
