Pack Expo is the biggest event for the packaging and processing industries, and this year’s event will have, according to organizers PMMI, over 1,700 exhibitors and 26,000 attendees, and it’s all going down at the Las Vegas Convention Center from September 23 to 25th. PMMI had to add more floor space to meet exhibitor demand again this year, making this the largest Pack Expo to date.
Here’s an overview of what to expect:
Pack Expo’s opening reception is slated for Monday, September 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event features Kenny Loggins, and the proceeds from ticket sales—tix cost $25—will go to the organization K9s for Warriors, which trains shelter dogs to be companions to military veterans suffering from PTSD.
The Expo includes receptions and education session on a wide variety of topics, like energy resource management, track and trace methods for food safety, and sustainable packaging.

There will be industry-specific pavilions to make research and networking easier to focus on. There will be pavilions for branding, technology, confectionery, food safety, pharmaceuticals, reusable packaging, and processing.
Train Baxter the robot at Rethink Robotics’ booth, and learn about Hapco’s shrink warp bottle labeling system during the Expo’s in-booth education and specials.
There will be lounges on the show floor by industry to help attendees meet and network with their peers.

The people at PMMI have put together a guide for Pack Expo first-timers, including booking lodgings, organizing your 3 days, and they’ve got a planning tool.
