Anderson & Vreeland Launches Flexo University

A Comprehensive Educational Initiative for the Flexo Printing Industry.

Everyone knows technology is improving the quality of flexo and creating production efficiencies so demand continues to grow. But many companies struggle to keep up with the trends, and lack the time and resources necessary for education. In an effort to make advances in technology and capabilities more accessible, Anderson & Vreeland has launched Flexo University, a comprehensive educational initiative offering the latest information, resources, insights and trends affecting flexographic printing.

Flexo University

Flexo University is an online resource designed to engage the flexo community with webinars, white papers, articles written by industry-leading experts in flexography, videos, technical support, and training. Educational content ranges from converging technologies affecting flexo, including CTP technologies, extended gamut flexo, digital printing, and digital front ends, to new materials and products that improve printing performance.

FlexoTV

Flexo University includes the “Flexo TV” channel featuring over 100 demonstration and educational videos covering all facets of flexography. Visitors can watch and learn from videos covering flexo plate production, proper plate mounting techniques, how to set up a four-color process fingerprint run, color calibration instruments and techniques, direct laser engraving and dozens of other subjects.

FlexoDaily

“FlexoDaily.com, the content initiative launched in 2012 designed to engage the flexo community with articles written by leading experts in flexography, is a cornerstone of Flexo University. The industry blog has evolved to become a leading resource for information affecting the flexo community.

Webinars

Flexo University also offers webinars making it easy to learn about new products and technologies that improve flexo printing. Participants can log on to any computer and absorb the information presented or take advantage of the webinar’s interactivity by asking questions. The 2016 webinar series is based on flexographic technical tips that will improve the quality and performance of your prepress, plate-making and printing operations.

As our industry advances in technology and capabilities, we felt it was important to develop this comprehensive educational initiative with resources for all members of the flexo industry, said Darin Lyon, President & CEO of Anderson & Vreeland. There is content for everyone, from basic tutorials on flexo plate production to advanced printing applications, added Lyon.

Anderson & Vreeland has a long-standing commitment to advancing flexo education that includes training employees, customers and supporting educational institutions offering flexographic studies. The company requires FIRST (Flexographic Image Reproduction Specifications & Tolerances) certification for all of its employees and is widely recognized for its extensive customer training and support. A&V has been a long-term sponsor of the Phoenix Challenge, Clemson and universities recognized for their flexographic studies, as well as the Flexographic Technical Association and other trade associations.

Anderson & Vreeland takes great pride in its educational mission, advised Howard Vreeland, Jr., Chairman of Anderson & Vreeland. Flexo University complements our efforts to introduce training and technologies to this industry that has been so good to us.
